Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Gansoft (run by [name of the person or business to be added], "we") collects when you use our golf tournament tools at gansoft.in and its tour addresses (such as yourtour.gansoft.in), how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Visitors following live scores
You don't need an account to view live scores. We don't ask for any personal information.
- Tournament choice: if you pick a tournament from the list, a small cookie remembers that choice on that tour's site. It contains only the tournament's ID.
- Server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider (Google Cloud) records technical details of requests, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to keep the service running and secure. These logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to identify you.
2. Tournament officials who sign in
Referees, scorers and tour administrators sign in with Google. When you sign in, Google shares your name and email address with us. We use them only to:
- check which tools your tour has given you access to (access is listed by email address);
- show who is signed in, and record who entered or changed tournament records (for example, the referee's name and email on a ruling, or who added a person to a tour's access list).
A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in on that tour's site. It is encrypted and expires after a period of inactivity, or when you sign out. We don't receive your Google password, and we don't access your email, contacts, files or any other Google data.
Gansoft's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. Tournament information
Tours use our tools to record and publish tournament information, such as players' names, draws, scores, rulings, pace-of-play times and pin positions. This information is entered and managed by each tour, which decides what is published. Questions about a player's information should go to the tour running the event; we will help the tour deal with them.
4. Where information is kept and who sees it
- The service runs on Google Cloud. Tournament records and access lists are kept in Google Sheets owned by Gansoft or the tour.
- Live scores are public. Other records are visible only to people the tour has given access to, and to us for running and supporting the service.
- We don't sell personal information, we don't show advertising, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers.
- We may disclose information if required by law.
5. How long we keep it
- Sign-in cookies expire as described above; the tournament-choice cookie can be cleared in your browser.
- Access-list entries are kept while you have a role with a tour and removed when the tour removes you.
- Tournament records (including who entered a ruling) are kept as part of the tournament's history for as long as the tour needs them.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or withdraw from a tour's access list, by emailing [contact email to be added]. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Some tournament records may need to be kept for the tour's official results; in that case we will tell you.
You can also remove Gansoft's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account settings (Security → Third-party apps & services).
7. Children
Our sign-in is meant for adult tournament officials. Live scores may include junior players' names and scores as published by the tour running the event.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
